Grupo Medusa - 1983 - Ferrovias











[Português] O Grupo Medusa foi uma das formações mais criativas da música instrumental brasileira na década de 1980, composta por um quinteto de excelentes músicos que sabiam utilizar de maneira brilhante os elementos musicais brasileiros, com muita criatividade e inventividade. Algumas marcas na sonoridade dessa banda foram o baixo sem trastes de Claudio Bertrame, a precisão ritmica de Chico Medori nas levadas de samba, a cuíca e efeitos de Theo da Cuíca e os ótimos improvisos de Olmir Stocker e Amilson Godoy. Durante a existência da banda foram produzidos apenas dois discos, sendo o LP Ferrovias o segundo. Merecem destaques neste disco o raro diálogo entre um piano e uma cuíca que é realizado na música "Abuda-Lê", e a introdução da musica "Ferrovias" com a simulação de um trem partindo da estação através dos efeitos da percussão e banda ritmados pelos tamborins.  

[English] The Medusa Group was one of the most creative formations of Brazilian instrumental music in the 1980s, with an excellent set of musicians who knew how to use brilliantly elements of Brazilian music, with lots of creativity and inventiveness. Some sound marks of this band were the sound of fretless bass of Claudio Bertrame, the rhythmic accuracy of Chico Medori on samba feel, the cuíca and effects of Theo da Cuíca, and the great improvisations from Olmir Stocker and Amilson Godoy. During the existence of band only two albuns were produced, and LP Ferrovias (Railways) is the second on. Deserve in this disc highlights the rare dialogue between a piano and cuíca that is performed on the song "Abuda-Lê", and the introduction of the song "Ferrovias" with the simulation of an train leaving the station using effects of percussion and band with the tambourim rhythm section.
